Jason Benjamin is an award-winning American actor and stuntman. He grew up in the Cumberland Mountains of East Tennessee. His youth was spent participating in competitive sports like baseball, football, and Karate. When he was age 13, his grandfather took him to see the musical Hello Dolly. He was immediately captivated by what he saw on stage. It was during his junior year of high school that he first took the stage himself, appearing in various school theater productions. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served four years in the Navy and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1991. He then served seven years in the Tennessee and Alabama Army National Guard. His finished his service in the National Guard as a member of the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Alabama. After his release from active duty in the Navy, Jason spent seven years as a police officer. Much of that time was spent working as an undercover narcotics officer and member of the SWAT team. In 1998 Jason transferred from the police department to the fire department. He rose to the rank of captain in less than nine years. Over the last two and a half decades, Jason has traveled the world participating in adventure sports like scuba diving, backpacking, rappelling, rock climbing, and kayaking. He had a promising career as a professional wrestler during the 1990's until he broke his leg while practicing for an upcoming match.
